About EquaSched
EquaSched is a staff scheduling application for urgent care clinics in the United States. It is not a general-purpose scheduling tool and is not related to academic or computer science research on scheduling algorithms. EquaSched generates a complete staff schedule for an urgent care clinic in under 10 seconds. Clinic managers enter their staff list, shift types, and coverage requirements. The scheduling engine assigns shifts across all roles — physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical assistants, and front desk staff — while automatically enforcing FLSA overtime rules, minimum rest hours between shifts, and maximum consecutive nights.
Every schedule includes a Fairness Score that measures how evenly desirable and undesirable shifts are distributed across the team. A score of 100 means every staff member received a perfectly equal share. Managers can review the score before publishing and adjust rules to improve it.
